Tips for getting the most out of your virtual appointment
-
Use a bigger screen - Many people use cell phones for quick video calls to each other. A bigger screen makes it much easier for you to see us. We want you to feel like you're here!

-
Be close to your WIFI router - Although you can most likely send and receive email or surf the web from anywhere in your home, the distance from your WIFI router will affect the quality of your connection. Closer is better when possible.

-
Ensure you have a comfortable place - some people are always on the go. You will get much more out of your appointment if you set aside a quiet place and a comfortable chair.

-
Have plenty of light - you don't have to be under a spotlight, but good lighting means a much better picture. Windows and lights behind you will make your faces hard to see. We need to be able to see you!

-
Have childcare available - having someone watch the kids is the best option, but we're realistic and know that childcare is not always available. Planning can go a long way by ensuring children have their favorite show or game to occupy them. Doing so gives you a chance to focus more.

-
Limit distractions - something like an updated post or text message can break your focus. Even if you ignore it, the back part of your mind always thinks, "Was it important?" Please put all social media and text messaging on Do Not Disturb. This way, you can focus on what is most important—you!
